We want your help

Whoever you are, there are lots of ways to get involved at St Philemon’s, and almost every team has space for more to join in. If you have a particular passion or skill, we’d love to know about it!

Here are some of the teams you might like to help with – find the relevant person on a Sunday or just email us if something interests you:

  • Welcome Team: greeting people on Sundays and helping with things like tea and coffee. It’s easy to serve like this just once a month or so. Talk to Brian Elfick.
  • Cooking Team: preparing meals for Monday lunch, Sunday dinner and one-off events. Working with others, no special skills are required. Again, easy to do as much or little as you want. Talk to Mark Cooper.
  • Gardening and Building Team: it’s really useful to have folk who can do DIY on the church building and look after the garden outside. From time to time we also organize Saturday morning working parties. Talk to Malcolm Hitchcott.
  • Music Group: we’ll take any instrument, but you do need to be able to play it! Talk to Alex Clayton.
  • Creche: lots of people offer a Sunday morning once a month, so that mums can stay in and hear the sermon. If you like small children, it would be great to have your help. Talk to Alice Elfick.
  • Children’s and young people’s groups: we need people to help with these groups both on Friday nights and Sunday mornings, and we lay on training to help you do it. Talk to Catherine Maclennan.
  • Leading in services: if you would like to help in services by reading, praying or leading in some other way, we would love to hear from you. Again, training is offered. Talk to Brian Elfick.
